gonna bitch about hrp now lol
got 11/25 for lit review =( cos i didnt quote all the references then he not happy. then thesis too vague. then he say my points too vague.
i wrote “In these trading nations, the economies are of vital importance to the nations and play a major role in influencing the countries’ policies, such as, in these examples, the military policies, as ‘trade protectionism rather than military aggression poses a more realistic danger to their national security”.
then he underline. say he dun understand. i explain. then he say too vague. huh? got things missing in this meh?
trade nation -> economy important -> scared trade protectionism, not military aggression
so more developed and trade -> less military expenditure
but i go and explain wrongly. i go and say is the countries spend on military to protect trade. bo pian what, wtf, give me back 3 months after doing it how i remember. i need to read the previous sentence to know what. and i didnt see the danger to national security part when he was asking me.
win liao lor. 11/25. he say i never elaborate enough, i also cannot say anything. i mean, its true, but this dumb paper has a word limit in the first place so what can i do? elaborate more (which i see as unnecessary) in the lit review, use 3k words, then do cpk 2k words? i dunno la, i just don’t get it. gg

then ask me what the falkland islands dispute was about. i couldnt remember, only remember got 2 islands. then he say is argentina and britain but there’s no military detente so im wrong. but from what i’ve checked, they fought once in 1982, and havent fought, and are negotiating, thats not enough for detente?

and i wrote “Furthermore, as the military spending increases, savings and, by extension, investments will decrease. It is hypothesised that higher military expenditure tends to coincide with high levels of international tension and unpredictability. During such periods, there will be a tendency to consume rather than conserve due to the unpredictability of the future, and hence, investments decrease.”
and he underlined half of it. i dun even get how it’s wrong
military spending -> coincides with unpredictability and insecurity -> ppl scared -> spent more, save less -> savings decrease -> investments decrease
do i have to draw diagrams for my hrp now? flow charts?
it sucks when u try to improve ur hrp but u cant find the problems. ok got, biblio got problem.

and fyi, what i just said was ALL he commented. yes, underlining. i even know how i got 11/25. he say, u do it like ur history essay. from what i remember, he didnt want to give me 2 marks (equivalent to 10%, 2 grades) because of paragraphing. so is the problem here paragraphing too? maybe i got too many paragraphs, i think if i had big chunks he will think i’m elaborating. apparently, 1-3 paragraphs per point isn’t enough. and when i sent him my draft, he told me it was ok. now get 11. what kind of mentor is that? but then, cannot say this kind of stuff also. teachers can bitch about us and we cant say anything about them. we all know how gossipy our teachers are. but what to do? they punch u also they correct. they tell u shut up without reason also they correct. they can come late u come late cannot. they got more breaks than you. they can meet u anytime, take up your recess, you cannot. they got income, u provide them with income. they can play GE until their computer starts smoking, but NO, you are a student, you should work 24/7. no you are a student. last year, you complain about work they say, u take 6 hours to do finish the homework you have everyday? NO PROBLEM WHAT! u are a student! what should u do other than do work? must take till 2 terms after then realise, eh, their grades are dropping leh, then realise homework spam doesn’t help. u bully ppl in sec 1 get ostracise by teachers, sec 2 his uncle and father bully u, your teacher say, shhh shh, we dun wan this kind of stuff to leak out. dun talk anymore about this. we will settle it. i actually thought we were wrong in sec 1. seriously. for the past 3 years. even though even the instructor at the camp also did (shoefly, yeah, and he believed it). until this year. even the BSC ppl niao him. seriously, i’m glad for him he didnt go ortus. if he went ortus, he maybe commit suicide already. but NO. the school says, when we want you to be like someone, you be like him. like say, yong quan, he went back school after 5 weeks in US, still get 1.00 what! so u all SURE CAN. 1.00 SURE CAN. even though he has been getting 1.00 even before that and u’ve been getting 3.00 SURE CAN. even though ur test is one week after u come back to school SURE CAN. but NO. oioniqe deserved to be bashed, but u cannot be like others. u are different! u are ispark! and that kind of if yongquan can do it, you can do it too is BULLSHIT. honestly, why ur teachers teach different from what u say? how come if question asks “is hitler responsible?” u cannot say “absolutely not! cos dataman say, if he can do it, somewhere else also can! if hitler can, bush also can! rooney also can!” full marks for hypocrisy.

and im quite sure those staffroom bitching went to my parents le. they get pissed at me, scold me, and when i point out they are wrong, they either get more pissed or say i’m only good at arguing. i mean, if it’s right, how hard is it to say you are right? but anw, i’ve decided to think about what the teachers could have said about me:

lazy – blee, chiak should have the most to say about this. today, he say i never complete my practical, and got kinda pissed with me. but i left 2 blanks, and that was because nicholas and jerrold say both are the same answer as the previous one. 3 questions same answer? i ask him, he never reply, and still look like it’s my fault. ok lor, my fault, so i just copy the answers back down. maybe even tommie chen say about me, i heard him, blee and chua talking about me what. sense sia, he scold me for angles, say i dun do work, say he has to do all this and that. then? i talk to the directors of consortium meh? u and laurang cannot communicate my prob meh? i told both of you about afternoon lessons. he dun want listen to me so it’s my fault? i say judging will take longer we need sth else then he say nevermind at most he play guitar, then end up really the montage not enough. its not i never say. i can tell u whats wrong but if u dun wanna listen, dun blame me.

argumentative – cao, chiak. i dun even bother stating my point nowadays. just be stupid, dun understand dunnid ask de. i’m fine example. if u ask and they dun answer ur question properly, its YOUR FAULT. yes. cos u are a student. stop asking questions the teacher cant answer. be stupid, and not figure out how to do chinese compre questions. ask constructive questions, and they cant answer, its your fault. chiak was more because of huang ji and i, he didnt want to accept the car theory, even though it was right, how? our fault lor. u student what. if i say u wrong, u wrong.

plain stupid – chua. the first essay he returned me, and the hrp he marked, he probably thinks i suck. when he returned my first essay, and say my definition was wrong, even though everyone else doing that question knew that the definition was from readings, then win already lor. his lessons are so slack and doesnt cover readings (but to give him credit, lessons such as today’s and the one about asean was quite helpful imho for our own enrichment. and he teaches us quite some economics stuff, which i think is quite good also), and from my first essay he seems like he maybe doesnt entirely go through his readings? i dunno. but to me, it’s not a flaw. he can slack but if he gets his job done, he is ok. in actual fact, after kevin cheng, he is the next teacher that has taught (and not drill).

i shall make this a mega ranting post now and talk about education, and maybe about how sucky this world is later.
currently education SUCKS. or rather, doesnt even exist (jerrold says too ok!) what we are going through is schooling, not education. we do stupid drilling everyday for our sciences, and because i couldnt bear all that stupid science drilling spam, i came hp. and then, geog, hist and lit also same. drill drill spam! even arts is thought the science way. well u can say its good. ben says he likes cos he likes memorising. i guess derek also. but i cant take it. i really hate doing the same thing twice, but its worse cos we do it hundreds of times in school. it just does not make sense, getting things into our long term memory, when we wont even use it in the future. ok, some stuff we will need but be drilled in 10 subjects? since math is double subject so effectively we have 9 subjects. whats is the point? ok, got point la, its to make us remember it for life. but it doesnt suit me. thats why i just cant freaking do well now, cos its more and more content spam.

so.. basically secondary school gifted education programme fails. in primary school GEP, we didnt do just drilling, we had more fun, we were being EDUCATED, not SCHOOLED, and we did better than mainstream. the problem with our gep now is, our teachers arent even gep teachers wtf. how do we have gep? basically our gep now is, learn more, test harder.

which brings me to exams. the radio recording we had that was dumb (but i don’t mind, since it’s a lot nicer and useful than doing da gangs), and had a topic about making exams harder so they can stretch their minds. i 100% DISAGREE. the fact is, our subjects are mostly content subjects now (with the exception of languages, which are only party content-intensive). so u make the exams harder by adding more in the syllabus. and then u stretch their minds? no wtf, all u do is take up more of brain space for memory. we are not even learning anyway. our minds are not even stretched, they are drilled and pounded. u make tests harder, whats the use? look at our class now. u make tests hard. then say we stupid. then we take common test than sometimes we better, u say its expected. why then do u base our standard on our own tests? perfect example kia wee (sorry for naming names). good humanities student, good in humanities, has his own mindset, vocal, thinks. what happens? uber hard math paper across the board, even harder paper for ispark, because of ONE SUBJECT, byebye!~ u are out of HUMANITIES programme. what kind of sense is that?

and now, about why the world sucks. or rather, how humans suck. look, what a disaster. there was an earthquake in sichuan and people died. why?

BECAUSE OF CONCRETE BUILDING U SMART HUMANS BUILT THINKING THAT IT ROCKS YOUR SOCKS AND CAN WITHSTAND ANYTHING BUT WHEN IT COMES DOWN, ANYTHING BELOW, GG!

now, people go for achieving, achieving, and more achievements. not sure if i had said this here before, but in my opinion, games like maplestory are popular because of stupid humans, which include parents. u want your children to achieve, achieve, achieve. whole society want to achieve. so the children play maple wah LEVEL UP! DAMN HAPPY! GOT MONEY BUY GFA! seriously, they can do the same thing over and over again, killing the same monsters just to see their exp bar grow. so parents, before u scold your child for playing grinding games, have you considered if you were the cause?

why cant we just be all stupid cavemen? if u think its unsafe in a cave, live in a savannah? why are we fighting wars? why are we polluting?

BECAUSE WE ARE FKING STUPID.
